This summer has been fantastic. This summer has been fantastic. It has seen me participate and make the cut in my first major; the Ricoh Women's British Open; which was held on home soil at Carnoustie, followed by 3 top ten finishes in a row at the Aberdeen Ladies Scottish Open, the Uniqa Ladies Golf Open in Austria and the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters. The experiences along the way have been amazing and I am loving life on tour.

In order to gain entry to the British Open I had to play one round final qualifying held at Panmure on the Monday of the week of the Open. In difficult conditions I played solidly throughout my round. The closing holes were particularly challenging as they played back into a a strong wind. On 18 I had a brilliant up and down to finish on level par. This left me in a tie for 14th and so I was faced with a playoff with 8 other competitors for the final 5 spots for the Open. I continued my steady form in the playoff and birdied the 2nd hole to gain a spot in the 2011 Ricoh Women's British Open.

The Open began on the Thursday of the same week so there was not a great deal of time to prepare. Nevertheless, I was running on adrenalin and excitement at the prospect of playing in my first major. The set-up, venue and facilities were exceptional. Again for the first 2 rounds I continued my steady form and had 2 rounds of level par to make the cut. I was delighted to have done so at my first attempt in a major.

My entire experience during the week of the Open was awesome. I loved competing in one the biggest tournaments in ladies golf against the best players in the world. It was such a thrill doing so on home soil in front a friends and family. I took a great deal from the event and it has made me even more driven and determined to ensure that I am a regular fixture at all future majors. I have to thank everyone for their support during the Open and I was taken a back by all the kind wishes. I was especially delighted to have my gran there for the final round marching along the side of the fairways following every shot at the age of 84.

After the Open I was back on home soil at the Aberdeen Ladies Scottish Open held at Archerfield. I played in the same event last year on my rookie season and its one of the most enjoyable on the LET calendar. Archerfield is a fantastic course in a beautiful setting. The pro-am format is a great change from the norm and the pre-event function was great fun. The fun I was having reflected in my game and I finished for a career high of 5th = after a closing round of 69.

I was next off to Austria. I felt like something had clicked at the Scottish as all season I had been playing solidly but felt my scores weren't reflecting the standard of golf I was playing. Nonetheless, in my second round I had a bogey free card of 67 for a round of 5 under. Again I had another top 10 finish in a tie for 8th.

From Austria the tour headed to Prague. At the start of the week I got to tour the city and its breathtaking buildings and architecture. That evening a good group of the girls from the tour headed out for for Rebecca Flood's hen night. We had a "lively" dinner followed by a hilarious night on the town... there were some serious dances moves ans shapes being busted! Its great having an occasional social night with the girls to let our hair down and break up a couple of weeks on the road.

Just as the city of Prague is stunning the Albatross Golf resort was equally impressive. The course was in fantastic condition and the greens were perfect. For being the Czech Republic's inaugural event it was exceptionally run and the facilities and practice range were excellent.

My game too felt great going into the week and I was feeling confident of a good performance. I played the pro-am on the Thursday in heavy wind and rain, my team managed to battle through the conditions to win the pro-am for which I won a fancy Italian coffee maker... have no idea how to work it but it looks pretty cool!

The conditions improved slightly over the first two days. I had rounds of 69 and 71 to be 4 under at the cut. I went into the final round in glorious sunshine looking to go low and thats exactly what I did. I had another bogey free round of 67 to finish the tournament at 9 under and in a tie for 4th.

This was a career high finish for me, improving on the 5th place finish at the Scottish a couple of weeks earlier. My final round saw me play trouble free golf. As delighted as I was with my score and finish, I felt like it could have been even better as I had lipped out for a couple of birdies and an eagle.

This run of 3 top tens in a row after playin in the Open has been really pleasing. Playing in the British Open made me determined to better my game and I feel it gave me the confidence to really challenge in the subsequent events. I have 2 more events left in Europe, the Lacoste Ladies Open de France and the Sicilian Ladies Italian Open. After that the tour heads off to China which i'm really excited about.

Will make sure I don't leave it so long to update this again. Appreciate all your support this summer.
